The maps below shows our estimates of the percent of people in each county who have received the COVID-19 vaccination in North Carolina based on data updated through October 14, 2021. We include maps for those who are fully vaccinated, meaning they have received both doses of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or a single dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine, and those who are at least partially vaccinated, including those who have received at least one dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or the single dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine. The estimates are derived from county-level data on vaccines administered, available from NCDDHS. The percent values are based on the number of people age 12 and older in each county (i.e., those medically eligible to receive the vaccination). Statewide, we estimate that 5,270,371 (60.14%) of the 8,763,975 North Carolinians age 12 and older are fully vaccinated, and 5,610,092 (64.01%) have received at least partial vaccination. These maps provide a more reasonable characterization of the ongoing vaccination effort than a map of total people vaccinated or total doses administered (which hide underlying differences in population sizes and do not provide information about people starting/finishing the series, respectively). We will continue to update this map as new data become available.
